Do you want to build your confidence on the water and improve your paddling skills? Join us for our Quick Start Kayak Class. The class allows time for land-based review of essential gear and learn the basic paddle strokes to locomote your boat. We will spend nearly3 hours on the water to learn and practice the maneuvering and locomoting strokes. You will also have the opportunity try out several different boats to improve your knowledge for future paddling experiences.

How to find us: Look for the truck with the kayaks at the 4100 W. Lawther parking lot.

What to Wear: Optimal attire will be quick dry shorts / top over your swimsuit and shoes you don’t mind getting wet.  We don’t plan on getting in the water, but this is kayaking and new activity so we can’t rule it out.   Old gym shoes or closed toe water shoes work well for your feet.  Flip flops are least desirable; they fall off easily and offer little protection from debris left by fisherman and park people along the shore.

What to bring: a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, layers appropriate to the weather, towel and a change of clothing. Also, bring an energy snack to have in your boat and lots of WATER or other form of Hydration.

Dry bags will be provided for any personal items you wish to have with you in the boat.
