Join us for a unique experience on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, paddling through the ecosystem of the old and the new river channel. After the paddle along 6 river miles we shuttle you back to LLELA. Once out enjoying nature, you will quickly forget you are in the metroplex.

Safety talk between 9:00am – 10:00 am, then paddles wet at 10:00 am, for a 3- 4-hour trip down the river Participation in Safety talk is mandatory to paddle downriver.

Pricing includes LLELA access fees and all kayak gear including kayak, paddle and PFD.

How to find us: Let the gate attendant know you are with the kayak group to receive your parking pass. Proceed approximately 2 miles on the main road to the parking lot at the dam. Just before the parking lot, you will see a sign for Kayak parking on the right through the woods. Parking is in the field near the gate to river.

What to wear for the eco-tour: Optimal attire will be quick dry clothing over your swimsuit and shoes you don’t mind getting wet.  We don’t plan on getting in the water, but this is kayaking, so we can’t rule it out.   Old gym shoes or closed toe water shoes work well for your feet.  Flip flops are least desirable; they fall off easily and offer little protection from debris left by fisherman and park people along the shore.

What to bring: a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and layers appropriate for the weather. As a contingency, a towel and a change of clothing are nice to have in the car. Bring snacks to have in your boat and water or another form of Hydration.

Dry bags will be provided for personal items you do not want to get wet.
